The picturesque medieval town of Kutna Horá, part of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage, is situated approximately 70km east of Prague. Kutna Horá was founded in the most important town in Bohemia after Prague. The city was famous due to its prosperous silver mining. The Bohemian kings had their residence in the city and it was the mint for the ”Prague Penny”. Here you will see interesting and most impressive sights as the unique Gothic Cathedral of St. Barbara, the nearby Hrádek building which has a direct relationship with the town’s mining past, originally a Royal Mint, and the Archdeacon’s Church of St. James. |
